Everyone is Welcome: Troop 16 is an inclusive organization. We do not tolerate bullying, hazing, abuse, unwanted contact, discrimination, or hate. Anyone violating this policy will be asked to leave and may be reported for inappropriate behavior.
Two Deep Leadership: Following Scouting America policies, all events have at least 2 registered leaders at all activities. Adults can help support our program by registering as a leader.
No One-on-One Contact: Adults may not have one-one-one contact with any youth, except their own child. This includes meetings, campouts, car-rides, phone calls, emails, text messages, chats, and more. Where possible, we encourage 2 adults and 2 youth to be present to ensure everyone’s safety.
Youth Protection Training: All registered Adult leaders must complete the Safeguarding Youth Training annually. All others adults are encouraged to complete this training annually. The training is free and can be completed at: https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection
Personal Safety Awareness Training: Families should review the How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.

Cell Phones: Scout are permitted to use cell phones if the following conditions are met:
– Parent Approval
– Completed annual Personal Safety Awareness Training
– Completed annual Code of Conduct Training
– Not viewing inappropriate content
Scouts (not the Troop) are responsible for keeping the phone safe and charged. Phones may not be used during activities unless required for the activity. Scouts violating this policy will have their phone confiscated by an adult leader and returned to their family.
Donations: Troop 16 does not solicitDonations made to Troop 16 are used to benefit the entire program and cannot be applied directly to an individual or participation in a specific event. During our annual Popcorn Fundraiser, half of all troop donations are donated to providing popcorn for the military.
