The vision of Scouts BSA Troop 16 (formerly Troop 902) is to offer an inclusive Scouts BSA program that allows young people:
- Enjoy a safe learning environment,
- To participate in a wide variety of fun and educational activities,
- To be fully participate in all Scouting activities, and
- To develop life-long friendships.
Scouting America
The mission of Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
For more than 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
Rescue Squad 16
Plaza Volunteer Fire Company & Rescue Squad, founded in 1962, holds a rich and storied history as a prominent community-based emergency response organization. Its inception can be traced back to the dedicated efforts of a group of compassionate and proactive individuals in the Plaza neighborhood of Virginia Beach, who recognized the pressing need for efficient and immediate medical assistance.
In 2023, Rescue Squad 16 became the chartering organization for the following organizations:

The Aragona Village 1198 Moose Family Center (Virginia Beach) opened its doors on August 14, 1960. Since then, membership has grown immensely, to become what is now an essential staple in our community. On behalf of our membership and the Board of Officers, we encourage you to visit us and enjoy a tour of our facility and learn how we are making a difference in the lives of children, seniors and our local community.
In 1993, Aragona Moose Lodge began chartering Scouts BSA Troop 902. Since 2023, they continue to provide us meeting space and help with our programs.
